The Immortal by John Tigges

While walking his dog through a field in Chicago, Riley, a janitor and freelance writer, realizes that a fire is visible in the distance. He approaches the place and discovers a group of hooded men performing a black mass.

After that he returns to his home to process what he just saw. He decides to wait on calling the police considering it was Halloween night, it must have been some kind of weird witch religion.

The next day he decides to return to the place to take some photos that will inspire him to write a new article.

He finds a cauldron full of bones, surrounded by various bird feathers covered in blood, a half burned bible, and a diamond hilted dagger.

He takes the Bible and dagger and phones the police. The police and Riley show up to the place bewildered when they see nothing out of the ordinary. The cauldron, the bones and the blood are gone.

Doubting his sanity, Riley decides to tell his roommate Melanie, with whom he has a free love affair, showing her the photos, the dagger and the bible. She thinks that it’s just a Wiccan ritual and he shouldn’t worry about it.

Days after writing the article on the black mass, he receives a strange visit from a beautiful woman who invites him to join the satanic cult he witnessed that night, promising him great wealth and success as long as he gives himself completely to the master without objections…

I really enjoyed reading this book, the story is full of sexual acts in the name of Satan, spontaneous combustion and bloody revenge.

I give this book 5 of out 5 demons!
